Our Kindergarten
AELC pink flower.png

Armadale Early Learning Centre is a not-for-profit community kindergarten.

At the centre, we aim to develop and extend individual children socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. We promote positive attitudes by stimulating the children’s interests and awareness of themselves and of others. Our programs provide challenging material, emotional support and are focused on building lifelong curiosity in the children.

The building and land are owned by the City of Stonnington. Our purpose-built facilities include two large classrooms with adjoining toilets, separate room where extra experiences are staged and a large shaded garden with a variety of playground equipment.

We believe each child has different needs and the Centre’s program offers a broad range of activities and experiences. We provide a challenging, stimulating program aimed at enhancing each child’s skills and interests.

We believe
play is the most significant way for children to learn and we link the concept of play with the themes of friendship, team-building and enjoyment. Guidance towards self-discipline is part of the learning process. Appropriate and constructive behaviour is encouraged. Our goal is to prepare children in all aspects of development so they are ready for school, as well as life.

 Independence

Independence

At AELC, children are encouraged to develop independence through various activities, both individually and as part of a group. They learn to take initiative in their tasks, to collaborate with others, and to explore and expand their skills and interests. Through these experiences, they cultivate independence not only in their actions but also in their social interactions and personal growth.

 Communication

Communication

At AELC, children learn the importance of expressing their thoughts, emotions, and needs to others. Through various activities and interactions, they develop communication skills that enable them to effectively convey their ideas, feelings, and desires to their peers and caregivers. This fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where every child's voice is heard and valued.

 Values

Values

At AELC, children are encouraged to cultivate self-respect and a sense of self-worth, as well as respect for others and for the property around them. Through various activities and guided interactions, they learn the importance of sharing, cooperation, and active listening. These values are integral to creating a harmonious and inclusive environment where children learn to appreciate and empathise with others while also taking responsibility for their actions and surroundings.
