Earlier in the year we were having our group time outside under the tree when we were interrupted by the sounds of the building at Toorak Park. We began discussing what was happening at the worksite and realised we had more questions than answers. After much brainstorming (and some subtle hinting from Jess) we decided to write a letter to the worksite to find out more. Many months went by and we had not heard anything but just as we thought we could write that experience off, Jess received a call from Shaun and we set up a visit. Shaun brought his safety-ware and told the children about the different kinds of apartments that were being built. Of course though, the children were far more interested in the trucks, cranes and diggers which were the topic of many questions. Finally the children each got the opportunity to try on Shaun’s hard hat and his high-visibility vest. Then we were real builders!
