The ongoing “tinkering” work of our possums is of high distinction. The need (sometimes immediate!) to discover the inner workings of basic mechanical appliances, should not be underestimated. The joy in being the one who finally opens up an old household telephone, is something to behold! There is a special sort of satisfaction that comes from flicking old keyboard letters into the abyss. The level of talent in de-constructing and disassembling is growing everyday. We are quite impressed with the persistence being shown and enjoy hearing the discussions around the functions and operations of the tools and objects involved, that are arising. Tinkering allows our possums to work collaboratively, develops fine motor skills, promotes communication and is proving to require a high level of patience and commitment from the those who tinker.
Thankyou to those who have been donating such items to be destroyed. Rest easy knowing your old landline is in a better place.
How did the telephone propose to his girlfriend? He gave her a ring.
