What a wonderful Mother’s Day we had. Thank you to those who were able to attend on the day, the children were thrilled to have you there! At the beginning of the session, the children took turns to bake scones which were later enjoyed with their special guests. Before the guests came into the room, we practised giving hand massages and talked about how we wanted to do nice things for our mummies because we love them. I have never heard the children sing so loudly or so well before which indicates to me how much they enjoyed having their mothers there.
In case you missed it, this was the information on the back of the card explaining the gift and card: This term we have been working on developing fine motor skills and the cards and presents your children have made are the product of this practise. Earlier in the term we had threading set out for the children and your necklace is an extension of this, along with the manipulation used at the playdough table to make the beads. We also began the term with stamping at the art table. The front of your cards used stamps to create the unique images. Finally, the flowers have been made using gluing which we have been exploring over the two terms at the art table. Your children have worked hard and lovingly to make these presents for you, honing their skills and development.
