Week beginning 2nd June
What a lovely week we have had! We began our week making healthy pizzas with Karen and three of our Mums. Thank you to Vivia (Nicholas’s mum), Hamsa (Ariya’s mum) and also Christine (Mary’s mum). The children all had lots of fun making their own choices and decisions on what they would like on their pizza. Our options were ham, pineapple, mushroom, cheese, red and green capsicum and tomato paste.
Our discussions on healthy food choices have continued throughout our sessions and we introduced a game this week called shopping list. This is a game of memory, where the children fill their trolley with different food items from the supermarket. The children were given a lot of support and guidance during this experience and were able to pick up the concept quit quickly. We will continue this game next week, as we will continue to build our observation and memory skills, develop personal and social skills and continue to learn about healthy food choices.
This week the children in the koala group have continued to take great care of their sunflowers. On Thursday the children noticed that they have began to grow, which was very exciting. I think we will see lots of changes when we come back to kinder on Thursday after the long weekend.
We have continued to have lots of cuddles with our baby rabbits this week, making the most of it as we said goodbye to them on Thursday. I think they will be missed by all next week. We have just loved having them stay with us at AELC.
Just a reminder to please remember your children’s jackets for our outdoor experience as it has been quit cold the last couple of weeks.
We hope you all have a lovely long weekend!
