Week beginning 23rd July 2014
Well it is hard to believe it’s the end of term 2! We have had a wonderfully busy term, with three cooking experiences, a visit from Dave the music man, the rabbits came to stay with us at Kinder and many more wonderful experiences!
Last week we had our last cooking experience, making rice paper rolls. The children each had the opportunity to fill their rice paper with a filling of their choice. We had grated carrot, capsicum, coriander, tuna and spring onions. Most children had a try of their rice paper roll; others chose to take it home. This experience was another great opportunity for us to talk about healthy food choices.
On Monday we also celebrated Mary’s 4th birthday. Mary wore the birthday hat and she blew out the candles on our special kinder cake. Thank you for sharing your birthday with us Mary and for sharing those yummy cupcakes with us!
On Thursday we celebrated the last day of term by playing some games and we also made our own popcorn. The children were very excited when the popcorn came “popping” out of the machine; there was lots of laughter and excitement in the room!
I hope you all enjoy having a look at your children’s learning journal over the holidays, and don’t forget to tell us a little about what your family got up to in the holidays. The children love to share this with their peers on the first week back of term.
Karen and I have really appreciated all your input throughout the first half of the year. Don’t forget to put your name down for fruit duty next term! Your children love having you spend some time with them at Kinder.
We are looking forward to another busy term after the holiday, and look forward to seeing you all on Thursday 17th July.
