9th October 2014
Welcome Back everybody! It was so lovely to see all your children’s happy faces on Thursday! They were very keen to be back and engage in all the experiences. We are looking forward to a very busy and eventful last term before your children venture off to 4 year old kinder.
During our group time the children enjoyed sharing their holiday experiences as we went around the circle. We have also been practicing the days of the week and the weather at our group times. In week three of this term we will be introducing show and share with different topics set for each week.
The home corner this term has been set as a shop, and the children spent a long time in this area playing out different roles. We had a few shopkeepers and we also had a few shoppers.
We also had a threading experience this week. The children used their fine motor and hand eye coordination to weave in and out of the holes. Some needed a little assistance while others were happy to attempt this experience on their own. This will be an experience we will continue next week to further develop these skills.
As you may have noticed on Thursday, to extend the children’s self help skills, the children will be collecting their own bags before they go home.
This term we will be involved in 3 cooking experiences. Our first one will be on the 30th October and the children will be making healthy sandwiches.
Our last session for this term will be on Thursday 11th December and our Christmas concert will be on the Monday 15th December.
Just a reminder to bring in your children’s hats for each session and apply sun cream before they come to kinder.
Have a lovely weekend!
Fiona and Karen
