Week Beginning 1st September
Well we had a lovely start to the week by cooking some yummy ham and cheese muffins and of coarse, we made some fairy bread from the butter we churned with farmer Sue. The children each had the opportunity to measure and pour in the special ingredients and they also had an opportunity to mix the ingredients. The muffins were very popular with lots of children asking for seconds and parents asking for the recipe to take home! This was our last cooking experience for the term and will be an experience we will continue next term.
The children were busy at the collage table this week making their cows and sheep. We used paper plates; cotton wool felt pieces and glue for this craft experience. The children were very keen to make the animals they had seen at farmer Sue’s portable farmyard.
The children have also been busy this week doing their handprints for the aprons and finishing off our artwork for the trivia night. Looks fantastic!
This week at the easel experience we have introduced roller paining. As you can imagine this was very popular on Monday, as the children enjoyed exploring with different paining utensils. The children were mixing colours together and we talked about when we mix two colours together they create a new colour. We will further extend this experience next week by introducing some sponges and shapes into this area.
We will continue to spend time exploring outdoors and as of the 1st September we need to remember to bring the children’s hats to kinder and applying sun cream before you arrive.
We are looking forward to seeing our Dad’s/special people on Monday for our Fathers day celebration.
Enjoy your weekend,
Fiona and Karen
