Koala group
Well it’s been a big week for celebrations this week! On Monday we celebrated Bianca’s Birthday and on Thursday we celebrated Skye-Bella’s Birthday! We all really enjoyed celebrating this special day and eating yummy cakes together. On Monday we welcomed a new child into the Koala group, welcome Hetansh! On Thursday we also celebrated Harmony Week. The message of Harmony Day is Everyone Belongs. It is a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity. It is also a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home-from the traditional owners of this land to those who have come from countries all around the world. To celebrate this special day we all made a poster with all our handprints. We have now got this on display, feel free to come and have a look! This week we have been busy making stick people. The children have been very creative with this experience with some children creating a family of stick people. Fantastic! Our group time experience the children have been very involved. We have been practicing our action songs and the children have been enjoying going fast and then slow. We have been doing some dancing on our coloured spots. I saw some great dancing moves on Thursday! For our story time the children have been listening to the hungry caterpillar. Which led us to discussions on what happens in the life cycle of a caterpillar. We extended this experience in the play dough area with the children building their own caterpillars with the play dough and using the icy-pole sticks and gem stones to decorate. The Koala’s have continued to enjoy the outdoor experiences. They have been continuing to practice their climbing and balancing skills on the A-frames and planks. Water play continues to be popular, and of coarse the sand play and swings. We are looking forward to seeing you all next week, Fiona and Karen Comments are closed.
