3rd March-6th March
Koalas have had a new friend join our group! Welcome Nicholas! Nicholas had his first day on Monday and we celebrated his Birthday on Thursday. The children were all keen to sing happy birthday and counting Nicholas’s candles. I would like to thank Nicholas for sharing his special day with us, and for the yummy cake! We have enjoyed another happy and productive week in our three-year-old group with your children becoming involved in a variety of learning experiences following and extending their interests with enthusiasm. This week the children have been very busy creating beautiful collages, easel paintings and dot paintings. A few children have been exploring with mixing colours together to make other colours. We will extend this experience next week with mixing a new range of colours together. Collage continues to be a favourite activity and we will also be extending this area by adding boxes and a range of other materials. The koala group has been enjoying story time at the end of the session. We have been reading a variety of stories such as: Who sank the boat? Barry the fish with fingers There was an old lady who swallowed a fly and The Gruffalo’s child Group times the children have been continuing to build their skills in turn taking and listening to one another. Sitting on the mat without talking is a skill that can be tricky for 3 year olds, so we make our mat times very interactive and fun. We hope you all have a wonderful long weekend and look forward to seeing you next Thursday. Fiona and Karen Comments are closed.
