Welcome back to our families after the Easter Holidays. We hope that you all had a happy and relaxing time and that the Easter bunny was good to you.
We would all like to welcome James and his family and Ivy and her family to our Kindergarten. Their first day here saw them explore their new environment by climbing the equipment, watching their peers and participating in experiences such as drawing and painting when indoors.
Several children had noticed that the room has been changed around. So we spent some time looking at where experiences were. When they did discover that they could still paint, draw, build with blocks and manipulate playdough they were rather happy. But for some, to find a tent at Kindergarten and for it to be inside, was very funny. It certainly was the place to be.
When at the playdough table the children made patterns in the yellow dough with shells. Words like smooth and bumpy were used during this sensory experience. At the nature table when touching the many items, it was suggested to me that the autumn leaves, gumnuts and bird’s nests are “delicate” and that I had to be “careful”. Hopefully I will remember this the next time I examine any of these items........
Wonder what will happen next week...............
