Well, do you believe this is our second last week in the Koala Group 2013? On Monday there was some discussion about Christmas while outdoors playing which continued when we moved indoors. Before going in though the children were very helpful watering the vegetable garden with the water that we had used in the water trolley. We discussed where the water should go and how we could tell what had been watered and what had not. Each day each of us builds knowledge and understanding. Indoors we sat on the mat and spoke about Christmas and decorations that the children had in their home or had seen already. Some of the decorations included trees of course as well as stockings for presents and balls. Others were able to tell us where Santa lives and what the reindeers like to eat and drink. Making Gingerbread cookies involved each child contributing to the making by adding ingredients which they had to measure and then stirring occurred. Each child made their choice about what cookie cutter to use for their cookie. These cookies were not for eating........ after smelling them cook it was a little tricky to not eat them then and there.............................................................The children also made their Christmas invitations for you to come to the Koala Group Christmas Party on Monday 16/12/2013 at 1.30 (children at 1.15)
During Thursday the children observed the changes in the weather and not only saw the hail but heard it rather loudly on the verandah roof. During this time we did go indoors. The children also spent time decorating their Gingerbread cookie which you will receive as one of your gifts at the party. Inside we practiced our chosen songs that the children will be singing for you at our special celebration. Many of the children also did a drawing that we will give to Prahran Mission for them to use as placements for their Christmas day celebrations for many people in the Stonnington community. Thank you everyone for a fun day.
Enjoy the weekend everyone
