Monday was a cold day and at times wet but that did not stop the children from wanting to stay outdoors. Some were working in the sandpit making the biggest chocolate cake ever.... others were digging in the dirt and transporting it around the yard in wheelbarrows and others were climbing and participating in experiences on the verandah. Some of the children were able to be out in the rain (only drizzle) because they had a raincoat on. What a great experience they were having... Your child could wear their raincoat and boots so they could participate. Did you see that this week it is James and Dylan’s turn to help with the compost, Sydney to help with the electricity and Lucas to help with the water? This group are building their awareness and understanding about how to protect our environment for the future. Part of this of course is to be involved. You could also do this at home if you are not already doing so. DO you have any other ideas that you could share with us? Please let Annette know, if possible we can adopt them here as well.
What a contrast today was in regards to the weather. It gave the children the opportunity to discover different treasures in the sand tub along with the different consistency of the sand compared to what’s in the sandpit. The children explored the yard by hiding within the plants, they explored how they could climb on different equipment in different ways and be very competent at doing so. Many of the children worked together to achieve common goals. We stayed out for most of the session. Some of the children were designing their invitations to their dad. These invitations are for the children to ask their dads to come to spend time at Kindergarten on Monday 2/9/2013 2.15pm to 3.15pm (Sorry for the mistake with the am......oops)
Remember if your family have any environmental ideas that you do we would love to hear about them and hopefully do them at Kindergarten.... Maybe you have some plants, seedlings that you would like to donate for our vegetable garden and then of course to cook and then eat.....
