Monday was such a lovely day that we stayed outdoors for most of the session. Over next to the big green wall are some new logs that were used by some of the children as a table and chairs. Here they used their knowledge and imagination to cook spaghetti and a cake for dessert. Several children were delighted with their yummy food. The vegetable garden continues to be a source of discussion and examination. Some of the children tried the lettuce and of course the chives and parsley, mixed reactions. Some weeding was also done and YES watering occurred.
We were indoors for only a short time to see what fun Chompy got up to at Misha’s home. Misha gave Chompy to Lucas so he can take him home for another adventurous time. After fruit the scrapes were put into a small bin which was then taken out to the big compost bin next to the vegetable garden and emptied by Conor and Elina, who were this week’s helpers. Thank you so much.
Thursday we stayed outdoors so Max from “Kidding Around”could take photos of us participating in many experiences. We also had a group shot, maybe more than one....... Max also used the Kindergarten camera so Chompy could also be included, stay tuned for that........Chompy is certainly a popular addition to the group.
While outdoors many children were involved with ball games such as footy and soccer. Other children were busy digging in the dirt and transporting it around the yard. When there was a spill they all worked as a team putting it back into the wheelbarrow and then back to the dirt area. Great discussion and negotiating happening.
Thank you to Joshua and his mum, Lisa for including us in Joshua’s birthday celeb rations, the Ninja Turtle, Leonardo cake was Yummy. What great cooks you both are. Joshua also took home Chompy for a few nights. Have fun.......
Have a lovely week end everyone
