Welcome back everyone. We hope that you all enjoyed the holidays. From some of the stories I was told, it does sound like that you did have lots of fun.
We stayed outdoors for most of the session as the weather was lovely. Yes it was windy at times but that did not stop the children from being on the swing, weeding the garden, climbing up, over, around and under the equipment, doing puzzles, playing with cars and lying on their backs looking at the clouds.......While looking at the clouds it was discovered they “come in different shapes”, “they are blown by the wind” and that when they are grey it means it will rain. We will be looking at this further.......
Thank you so much to Sydney and her family for sharing some of the events that they participated in duing the holidays. It certainly seemed like you were busy and enjoyed yourselves.
When we went inside I introduced the children to my Koala toy who will start going home with the family who are on fruit duty each session. Each child provided a name, some agreeing with their friends on a name for the Koala. Each name was put into a basket and the name that was chosen was CHOMPY. So from Monday 22/7/2013 Chompy will be going home with the family on fruit duty. There are previous Koala books that you can look at for ideas as you will be asked to document the adventures that you all get up to while Chompy is staying in your home. When Chompy comes back to Kindergarten the child who took him home will share with all of us what he has got up to. In the past it has been a very positive experience for all involved. I look forward to what occurs this year.
