Week 12 Reflection
I’d like to thank you all for coming on Monday to celebrate mother’s day with your children. They all got such a buzz out of having you at kinder, it was so lovely to see. Karen and I hope you enjoyed your afternoon.
With the weather being so lovely this week, we decided to take a lot of our indoor experiences outdoors and enjoyed the fresh air. The children have been continuing some out door games and have been really enjoying duck, duck goose and we have been learning a couple of new action songs.
On Thursday we introduces our new rabbit family to the Koala group and the children enjoyed watching her and some children were spending time at the drawing table drawing the mother rabbit (Ash) and her babies. There was some very creative drawing!
The Koala’s also played a game of memory on Thursday with Karen. The children are using their cognitive skills to remember where the matching pairs are. They all did a great job. This game is also an opportunity for the children to practice and use their social skills such as turn taking.
Our tin/pot decorating has begun! The children spent a considerable amount of time painting their pots with a variety of colours. Our discussions have continued about taking care of our seeds and how do they grow/what do they need to grow. This conversation also led us to talking about what our bodies need to grow. We talked about healthy food and sometimes food and what we like to eat for breakfast. We had some comments such as
“I just eat my Daddy’s breakfast!”
“Strawberries and ice-cream”
Next week we will be continuing our pot decorating and hopefully by Thursday we will begin planting!
Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend!
Fiona and Karen
