Hello all! There was plenty of excitement on Monday with the koala children rushing through the door to see the bunny rabbits. The children had an opportunity to have a hold, a pat or just a look at the bunnies and the mother rabbit during our group time. We had a big discussion about how to be gentle and make sure we were using our quiet voices so we wouldn’t frighten them.
Unfortunately on Tuesday we noticed that the mother rabbit was unwell, so she was picked up on Wednesday and being cared for. Next week we will be having another family of rabbits to visit us.
With the weather being so lovely on Thursday we decided to introduce a couple of games. We learnt how to play “duck duck goose” and we had a few rounds of “ring a rosie”. This gave the koala children the opportunity to listen to instructions, follow instructions, and develop their social skills. Indoors we had a game of musical statues, which the children picked up very quickly and were very enthusiastic!
Inside the children have been busily finishing their mother’s day gifts and are very keen to show you their creations. The children will be cooking scones on Monday for their first cooking experience of the term. Thank you to the Mums who have offered their assistance.
During group time we have been continuing our alphabet recognition. The children are recognizing which letter their name begins with and which letter their friends name begins with. We have also provided some letters in our play dough experience for children do continue to recognize and explore with letters and numbers 1-10.
The kinder koala is having her first visit for the year and we hope she is enjoying her time and having lots of fun. WE all are looking forward to hearing what adventures she has had.
Just a reminder to make sure your children are appropriately dressed for the weather e.g. coats or warm jumpers when it is cool so we can continue our outdoor experience during the cooler weather.
We wish all our Koala Mums a very happy mothers day on Sunday!
