Week 2 Term 2 Reflection
3 year old Koala
Hello families! It was so lovely to see your children very happy to be back at kinder after the Easter break last week. The children we very excited to tell us about their Easter break at group time. Last week we had three children celebrating their Birthdays with us at Kinder. Happy Birthday Ariya, Indi and Hetansh! Thank you for celebrating your special day with us. We all enjoyed the yummy treats you brought in to celebrate!
The children have been busy making their special gifts for Mummy to celebrate Mothers day. I hope you all received your special invitation to come and have some afternoon tea with us on the 12th May from 3-4pm. We are going to need a couple of helpers during the session, as the children are going to be involved in a cooking experience. Please let Karen or I know if you are available to help. It would be much appreciated.
Last Thursday we introduced a board game to the children called snail race. This involved the children practicing their turn taking skills, listening skills and also fine motor skills and considering it was there first time at playing, they all did an exceptional job. This is an experience that will be continued throughout the year to further develop and practice these skills.
During our group time sessions we will be discussing families, who is in our family and what our family likes to do together. Thank you to those of you who have handed in your family photo. We will be doing a family tree for the children to look at during the session once we have received a few more.
We will also be talking about healthy eating and the children will also be taking part in some cooking together this term.
Autumn has been a topic we have been looking at during our session also. We have talked about the different coloured leaves in autumn, and what happens to the leaves during autumn. We have centered some of our art experiences on the autumn leaves and the children have been enjoying touching them colouring and painting on them and have also been using them during their play dough experience.
On Thursday we had a mother rabbit and her bunnies come into our room for a visit. The children were fascinated by them and spent a considerable amount of time sitting on the bench and watching them.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
Fiona and Karen
