Welcome to all our Koala children and families. All children settled very well into the room. I think there were a few parents who were quite surprised as to how well they separated. Some began with an Easel painting, while others were enjoying homecorner, blocks, coloured ice blocks and exploring sea creature.
There were a few children who spent a considerable amount of time building and constructing with the train set. It was great to see the children working together and getting to know one another.
Cotton bud painting was another favourite experience on Monday with the children exploring with colours and working on their eye hand co-ordination. Great job!!
We focused on “getting to know each other “ during group time. All the children took part in the bubble bee song, which requires the children to sing their name back to the class. We also sang he children’s favorite songs which were “Abc”, “Miss Polly”, and “Twinkle Twinkle”. We also sang ‘Five little ducks” using finger puppets.
The children enjoyed exploring outside with water play, the sandpit and climbing. We finished our afternoon at kinder with two stories, Good night little rainbow fish and Penguin on holiday.
On Thursday the children once again separated well and got straight into indoor activities. We have been busy making our placemats which will be used for afternoon tea. They are all looking great!!
During group time we sang a few songs and then played a game of matching coloured beanbags into the corresponding coloured tub. It was great to see all the children getting involved and learning how to take turns and listen to one another.
We had lots of water play outdoors as it was very hot!! The Sandpit was another favourite. Lots of children cooking Karen and I cakes and biscuits.
We finished our session with a story called "Can I come too?"
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week.
