3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 6/6/2014
What a week we have had. On Monday Karen and Gina had the children working from the beginning of the session. Dough was made for the pizza base. Once the base was ready the children were able to choose their toppings for their pizza......there was discussion about whether it was a sometimes food or everyday food......what do you think?????? The children enjoyed what they had made and there was not much left that’s for sure.......Congratulations everyone.....Thank you so much to everyone who helped.
On Tuesday we started the session outdoors as they weather was warm and the children who I asked decided that outside would be fun. Climbing was encouraged along with running, swinging and balancing. There was discussion about the vegetable garden.....what we have cooked with.......what else we can plant...... and taking out some weeds also happened. During our experiences inside many of the children held onto a baby rabbit for some time. Those who held a rabbit were very gentle and caring. We made sure we held them as much as possible as we might not see them again as they are being picked up on Friday.
It was so lucky that the children had the opportunity to hold the rabbits as much as they did as they were picked up today before our session started. Today was a lovely day so we spent most of the time outdoors. For many they practiced their balancing skills by standing on the tyres and logs and then moving from one to the other. On the verandah a metal pole has been set up between two frames. This has given the children the opportunity to problem solve and coordinate their body across it..................lots of helping and encouragement from their peers was also occurring which was lovely to see.
We hope you have a fun long weekend and there are lots of stories to tell on Tuesday......
