We began the week with a cooking experience with Karen. This recipe was called Ants on a Log. It involved a stalk of celery with cream cheese spread onto it and then sultanas on top. The children were required to spread their own cream cheese which proved difficult for some, though they all gave it a go. However, when it came time to eat the Ants on a Log, not all of the children wanted to try. We will be engaging in fortnightly cooking experiences and any help will be much appreciated if parents can stay.
We have been making our Mother’s Day invitations for our mothers or special female family members or friends in our lives. The children have decided which songs they will sing for the mothers and are very much looking forward to the morning. We are also making a special present for our mothers, but shhh, it’s a surprise!
The children have also been talking about the vegetable patch which the four year olds have been planting. We brainstormed some ideas for what vegetables we would like to plant. Jess will bring these in next week for us to plant hopefully on Monday. The children also discussed how we put the seeds in the ground and have to water them and care for them. We cannot wait for the vegetables to grown so we can cook with them!
