3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 20/6/2014
This week we started outdoors enjoying the sunny weather and spending time running and playing “What’s the time Mr Wolf” We also had some help from to 2 students from De la Salle College participating in Community Service. On Monday we had Ben and Seb who spent their time getting to know the children by playing ball games with them and pushing them on the swing and of course talking to them. David the Music man entertained the children by singing songs and showing many instruments from different countries around the world. The children participated by singing and even playing some of the instruments. There were times they put their hands over their ears when it was a little noisy but there was lots of interest, many many smiles and lots of clapping.
After playing outdoors on Tuesday with the skittles/balls and of course climbing and balancing we came indoors so I could show the children some musical instruments that we have at Kinder. We spoke about what they are called and how they can be played. And of course we played them as we sang songs. How talented..........
On Friday we were lucky to have Jaap and his family return from a very long holiday. Welcome back. We stayed outside first so the children can continue to enhance their gross motor skills. Inside we were involved with musical instruments again. The children were able to recall the names of most of the instruments and yes they played them to songs.....Baa Baa Black Sheep, The wheels on the bus, Mary Had a little lamb (with variations)
