3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 15/8/2014
This week we started outdoors wearing our coats but then the sun came out and the children explored the yard. They helped Karen wipe down the swings and the climbing equipment so they could go ahead and enhance their gross motor skills by moving up, over and through the equipment. Indoors we spoke about what each child did over the weekend and of course travelled on the plane and worked together in the block area to build some amazing constructions.
On Tuesday the weather enabled us to stay outdoors for some time......the veggie garden continued to be a place of discussion and examination and bugs were seen taking pollen from the flowers........In the dirt area some of the children designed roads for their trucks incorporating the pathway and the large rocks.....when it came to packing away they got brooms and spades to help push/sweep the dirt back where it originally was. Inside the children were provided with their names where they were generally able to identify their own name..........The musical instruments continue to be a source of enjoyment as the children are choosing their instrument and are moving around the room as they play............
On Friday Karen’s oldest son, Ewan was not well so Karen was away and Margot was with us. The children showed Margot how they could climb and move through the equipment as well as being in the sandpit making cakes and searching for bones.............Inside we spoke about how the children will be taking turns in being helpers in our environment caring for our compost, water and electricity........A sign along with badges and a photo of the helper will be displayed close to the fruit bowl and drink basket.............keep an eye out for your child’s photo...mind you they will probably spot their photo seeing they don’t miss much....
Remember to care for our environment.............
