This week was a very short one due to the long weekend so we had a lot to do in one session. It was lovely to see that the children were so happy to see each other and be back at kinder. These friendships which are developing are fantastic to witness and we’re so happy with how they have matured over the year.
Anne, our new Centre Manager, has offered to take an occasional music class with the two three year old groups as a way for her to get to know the children, along with sharing her passion and knowledge of music. Plus, the children truly love music; singing, playing music and dancing to it. Anne began with a game which involved colour recognition, singing and dancing. The children love playing games as a group and helped each other to identify colours. Next she taught the children a song about ten galloping horses which could be sung loudly or softly. The children actually preferred to sing softly which was somewhat surprising! Then we practised singing crescendo and decrescendo using feathers before we made aeroplanes with our hands and sang a song about aeroplanes flying in the sky. The children particularly enjoyed when they jumped up and became the aeroplanes themselves!
On Monday we have Farmer Sue and the Mobile Farm; we look forward to seeing all of the children there!
