For the last week of kinder we had an incursion, a parent visit and a big pack up!
The incursion we had was from the Malvern Library. Alice visited to do a story time with the children as happens at the library. She sang songs with the children and read a few funny books to them. She also discussed with the children how to look after books and how to borrow them from the library. The children seemed to really enjoy this visit and each got a sticker to commemorate the occasion.
On Tuesday we had one of our lovely fathers come in to share his knowledge of music with the children. Alex’s Dad, Michael, brought in many instruments to show the children and they particularly enjoyed the drums. It was a great opportunity for the children to take it in turns to play each instrument. The most enjoyable part appeared to be when the children were able to “jam” with their instruments loudly!
On the final day of kinder for each term we have to do a big pack up and put all of the outside equipment away. Ordinarily the children continue to play while we pack up around. This term the children wanted to get involved, helping Jess and Fiona to pack the A-frames away. It was fantastic to see their teamwork, helping each other to carry heavy ladders between three or four. While they packed up, the children discussed teamwork and helping each other.
We wish everyone a happy two week break and we look forward to seeing you all when we return on Tuesday October 8!
