3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 4/4/2014
Can you believe that this is our last week of Term One? The children have settled in so well and relationships are certainly being established. This week we started outdoors and there was of course time spent in the sandpit but the experience that caught the attention of many of the children was the hopscotch mat. Karen demonstrated how to play this game and then she supported and encouraged the children to participate in this new experience. During this game they were building an awareness about turn taking, rules and numbers and most importantly having fun. It also enables the children to practice their balance and co-ordination and throwing skills (eye-hand co-ordination). On Tuesday some of the children worked together on building roads for the cars and tracks for the trains. Some of the wooden people were even incorporated in this construction. In home corner there was lots of action... dressing up, cooking, of course communication and there was some “house moving” as well. Outside on the swing several children are building their skills to swing themselves. On this warm day water was used in the sandpit. It’s a great way to keep cool but of course it’s a great medium to mix with sand.......so many things can be done... On Friday the children were involved with the space books and the rocket ship which past planets such as Mars and Saturn. Many children were involved in pasting, painting, drawing and of course playdough. Everyone was rather excited about having a party where some of our family could come and celebrate meeting new friends and participating in many new experiences and having so much fun at Kindergarten during this first term. Thank you all so much for all the great food and coming to share this PARTY... We all would like to wish you a very happy and safe holiday Happy Easter From Your 3 Year Old Kangaroo Group; Fiona, Karen and Annette Comments are closed.
