On Monday we started indoors and we were so busy we did not have the opportunity to go outdoors. There were trains and train tracks included in the block area along with cars and a garage. Of course there were several children who spent time working together to design and build stations and tracks and more blocks were added to look like buildings. There was lots of communication and co-operation happening here. There were two new experiences added for the children to learn new skills. One was a sensory experience where the children mixed water and cornflour to make a runny substance but it could also be rolled into a ball. It was also a science experience. The other experience was using particular shaped items, Australian animals, dipped on a paint sponge and then stamped onto paper. We also celebrated Claudia’s 4th birthday. She put on our special birthday hat and we all sung Happy Birthday and Claudia blew out four candles on our special cake. Congratulations Claudia.........
On Tuesday we spent most of the session outdoors running, working in the sandpit or being on the swing. Some of the children are able to push themselves or are helping to push their friends. What lovely friendships are developing. Lucy’s mum and dad participated in our program as it was Lucy’s birthday. When we did go indoors, Lucy also wore the special birthday hat and she was sung Happy Birthday and of course she blew out four candles on our special birthday cake. Congratulations Lucy.......
On Friday we discovered two case moths outside. Many of us watched the large case moth move around. Thank you Kayla for finding a protective place for them in the tree at the end of the verandah. They are now camouflaged and can continue to grow. Indoors we also found a scarecrow which was made by the children in 4 Year Old Group A. We spoke about how it will be going into the vegetable garden so the birds won’t eat the seeds or small vegetables, which we will be able to eat once they are big enough to be picked and put into our cooking...........
