3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 28/3/2014
Here we are at the end of our second last week of Term1.
This week the children have been very involved in working together to construct the train tracks and are now adding buildings and people ( as in wooden figures) to this design. This experience has enabled the children to build upon their interest as well as their communication skills and their ability to problem solve and role play.
In home corner the children have been very involved in cooking and taking care of their babies but also they have been using their existing knowledge to work with their peers to generate a caring and respectful environment.
The cubby house that has been in the book area continues to be a place where children have the opportunity to relax and read stories but also to pretend it is their home or a tent to use for camping. (as they have been taking items from home corner to use in here) From this experience the children were talking about having breakfast and going to work or to parties, so dress up clothes have been included. Many certainly loved putting on the clothing.....some even danced!!!
Craft experiences were still popular this week especially decorating their rainbow fish and colour mixing.........
Bird’s nests have been another focus of discussion and learning...have you seen our nests.......”a nest is a home for a bird” so of course it ties in wonderfully with our talks about homes and where people and animals live......
Just a couple of reminders before the end of Term One.........
I am still waiting on 4 photos from each family PLEASE.....baby, family, home and child’s favourite place in your home/garden.
It will be Dylan’s last day on Tuesday....very sad to see them go.....Best wishes (Maybe a little party as well)
Our last day will be Friday (4/4/2014) and we will be having a party and inviting you to come for the last hour of the session. Please bring a plate of yummy food for us to share.
Our first day back for Term 2 will be Monday 28/4/2014
Have a great weekend
