On Monday we prepared and cooked lovely healthy pizzas. Along with Karen, Lucia (Abeni’s mum) Molly’s grandmother and Bec (Lachlan’s mum) provided support and encouragement when the children were choosing their topping for their pizza. On top of the muffin base went tomato paste and then each child added what they liked. They chose from ham, pineapple, green capsicum, red capsicum and of course cheese. Many interesting pizzas were created. And yes they did get eaten at the end of the session.....YUMMY
On Tuesday there was discussion about staying outdoors or going indoors, well staying outdoors was the winning vote. So being outdoors enabled many of the children to be involved in running around the yard. They ran and laughed, they called out to each other. They stopped, they would change direction and then start again. What fun they were having. Of course the rabbits also played a big part during this session as it would possibly be the last time they could be with us. The children were able to watch them, feed them and of course hold them. When holding a rabbit each child was very gentle. Karen was with us today as Fiona was unavailable
On Friday we were able to stay outdoors again for the session as the weather was sunny and warm. This enabled the children to spend time on the swings. At the moment there is a swing available that two people can be on at a time. Talk about fun and yes many of the children are practicing pushing themselves on the swing. This is a very tricky skill to build. Congratulations. On the verandah there is a metal pole and two a frames set up for the children to climb on, swing on and even pull themself along. Here, they are building their upper body strength along with their co-ordination and they are providing support and encouragement for their peers when they are having a turn. I am so amazed and proud at their skills and talents developing so much.
During the week we have been very fortunate to have had two students from De La Salle College who have been very caring and respectful to everyone at Armadale Early Learning Centre.
