Well David the Music Man was certainly lots of fun last Monday. There were many smiley faces. From the beginning David had the children laughing and participating by singing, listening, watching and of course playing instruments. At times it was rather noisey, like when he played the tuba as he made it sound like elephants. Many put the hands over their ears but they continued to watch and listen. Even on Friday, several children were talking about “David the Music Man” and how he was very funny and had lots of instruments.
Tuesday we were busy adding our finishing touches to our mum’s gift. Many children were involved with the puzzles. Co-operation was the key to working together to try and complete them. There were discussions about the shape of the piece, what was on it and even if it was the right piece for the puzzle that was being done. Some were able to maintain their concentration to complete the many puzzles that were on the table.
Friday, well what a lovely day to spend outdoors. The children were consulted about what they wanted to do, indoors or outdoors? Of course OUTDOORS was successful. It was such a great opportunity to explore the environment further by looking at the trees and plants, touching them especially the “cats tail” plant. Some even laid on the grass and watched the clouds that were “floating”. Climbing and building large muscles was a focus for several of the children and what great climbers they are. Their skill level is growing along with their confidence. There has been so much communication and co-operation happening when in the sandpit, on the swings, doing experiences on the verandah and when helping to pack away. They are continually learning, building and refining skills. We are very fortunate to be part of your child’s lives. Thank you so much.
