What a busy week we have had even though there have been several children away on holidays and a few sick. Inside the children continue to be involved in working together doing puzzles and being rather proud of themselves when they are completed successfully. Communicating with each other during this experience is important of course. “Look at the shape” “where do you think this piece goes?” “See this piece, it has a straight edge so it goes here” “like this one” This demonstrates not only a good vocabulary but also how to solve problems with others and listening to their ideas and suggestions.
Several children have been involved with easel painting and are experimenting with colour and the different strokes to use. We know that colour is all around us as we have been discussing this. It is not only the colour in our clothing but also the textas and pencils we draw with, the leaves on the trees and so much more. There are some beach photos that the children have been looking at and with the different items provided for pasting some of the children have designed their own beach scene. Some very talented artists.
Water play and the hula hoops continue to enable the children to build their skills and interest and of course have lots of fun while outdoors.
Our favourite song at the moment seems to be “Wheels on the bus” which the children contribute to. They are able to remember what the babies do, the dads do and so many other things happen while you are on a bus...........
And of course reading a story and thanking the family who participated by doing fruit duty is such a positive way to end the session.
Hope you all had a lovely time at the Family Picnic and BBQ last Sunday and this long weekend you have all had fun outdoors enjoying the great weather and your family.
