3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 28/2/2014
Here we are at the end of the fourth week and the children continue to explore their new environment and develop friendships.
This week we have seen the children move from the front part of the room to the back part of the room. What I mean by this is that they are now working on puzzles, building with blocks, using the cars and animals, of course reading stories and checking out the stick insects. Home corner has also seen children use their existing knowledge to “cook” and “care for babies’’
Yes there are still some children manipulating playdough and painting at the easel but they to, move and participate in the other experiences.
Some space information/research books have been provided along with a solar system poster, the globe and some space figures such as astronauts and different space craft. There has been lots of interest and discussion about travelling in space and where can aliens be found. This might explain why we have read “Aliens eat smelly jelly” so often before going home!!!!!!!!!!! If you have any information or knowledge about space and planets we would love your help please.
Outdoors some of the children have been practicing how to push themselves on the swing. Mind you we think they do love the educators pushing them and talking to them while they swing up and down. Others have discovered the walking stilts which they are learning how to use. They are rather tricky though and require careful use. The hula hoops are lots of fun and see children attempt many tricks. The hoops are great for spinning and chasing after.
The sandpit and water play continue to be fun sensory experiences for the children. They are relaxing and calming experiences as well.
Fiona Power was with us on Friday as Karen was with her oldest son and his cricket team....hope they won..........
Hope you all have a great weekend.....
