The children are arriving happy and are already confident putting their fruit and water bottle in the appropriate spots. Congratulations to each of you for remembering what to do and where things go. Thank you so much. They are following routines and enjoy sitting with their friends during snack time.
This week craft experiences continue to be popular and provide the children the opportunity to build upon and enhance their creative skills and talents.
There have been new experiences available including the magnetic shapes, which has enabled the children to learn about how items can stick together as well as how to make patterns and build further of their understanding about colours and numbers. Some children have worked together to make a cubby house. Great discussion was involved about where the cubby could be made, what was needed to make the cubby and then how many in the cubby and what can be done in the cubby.....
The children have been examining the stick insects and talking about the differences between then and other insects. We will be exploring this further of course.....
Outdoors the children are loving the swings and climbing on the equipment. What a great place to build coordination, balance and large muscle skills. Of course the sandpit is the centre of enjoyment for many.
At story time the children are not only listening but are also helping me read the story and responding to the questions that I have been asking. It’s such a lovely way to finish the session.
Just a reminder that the Kindergarten’s welcome picnic and bbq is next Sunday 2nd March. We look forward to seeing you all there.
