Outdoors was where the children started their time for this session. It was good to see that everyone had a hat on as it was a rather sunny morning. Most of the children actually spent their time in the shade participating in experiences. Now that it is December experiences such as making invitations and gingerbread cookies and looking at and talking about decorations are certainly signs of something special happening soon.............................
While making the cookies the children were able to measure and then mix the ingredients. They took turns stirring and then rolling and cutting it into shapes. Many children spoke about the decorations they have at home after they were shown what was in the big red box. Decorations of course..........
Outdoors on Tuesday some of the children started jumping into the sandpit. This grew into long jump which the children took turns in participating in and encouraging and congratulating each other on their success. Inside the children were able to decorate their gingerbread (which will be given to you as part of your gifts) Karen had lots of different things for the children to choose from. Invitations were decorated and then given to families. We practiced some songs for the special celebrations that we will be having on Tuesday 17/12/2013. The children also checked out the moths that have come out of their cocoons.
Friday saw the children run around the yard, work together when jumping on the board, and climb over the equipment. Inside we practiced our Christmas songs and spoke about what will be happening when all our families are here with us. More decorations were made for you. Many of the children draw pictures that will be given to Prahran Mission for people to use as placements on Christmas day. Thank you so much.
The year has gone so fast..........
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
