Monday we were indoors first and the children were involved in the hospital by giving the patients needles, medicine and making sure they had lots of rest before sending them home. At the drawing table the children have been using rulers to add to their designs and of course the children made their own sandwich. During this experience each child had to choose between white/brown bread or a wrap then from what type of spread to use, butter, margarine or cream cheese then from tuna, ham, chicken, cucumber, tomato, carrot, lettuce and cheese. What great combinations were made. Thank you so very much to Melissa for all her help. Of course during this experience there were conversations about what healthy food is and what is not. To be healthy it was decided that people also needed to exercise and eat healthy food.
On Tuesday the weather was wet and cold but the children were involved in climbing, running digging under the big tree and being in the sandpit. When indoors we examined the silkworms and discovered that many of them had spun cocoons. Stay tuned for what happens next........At the moment the children have discovered a book called, “The Wonky Donkey” which they really enjoy. It also comes with a CD which the children dance to or pretended they were the donkey or they played an instrument.
When we were outdoors on Friday many of the children started making bird houses/feeders with Fiona. Thanks to families who have brought in a container. Next week they will be finished either to take home for your garden or to be put in the trees at Kindergarten to attract more bird life. We finished the session on Friday by reading the story and then dancing to “The Wonky Donkey”. We also read a story called” If you’re happy and you know it” This was the Australian version. This might pop at our Kangaroo Christmas celebrations in December. Please keep the Tuesday 17th of December available.
Enjoy the weekend
