We ended Term 3 with a big party. Many children wore their footy gear and celebrated all the fun and learning that occurred during Term3. We also sang Happy Birthday to Vihas and said goodbye to Gian and Dhairy. We all wish you and your family’s best wishes during your new adventures.
On the first day back of Term4 we were so lucky to be able to stay outdoors as the weather was so lovely. In the sand pit some of the children were involved in adding water to change the consistency of the sand and several different food items were made. I believe we have some amazing cooks. We also had some children working hard in the garden replanting the flowers that had been pulled out earlier in the day. The children were able to dig a hole, place the plant in, fill in the hole and then of course water. What thoughtful and caring environmentalist we have in this group. We were inside for only a short time but we spoke about enjoying our holidays.
On Friday more work was occurring in the sandpit where water was added and children cooperated with each other in what they were creating. Social skills and communication are continually developing in this group.
Indoors we only talked about teeth cleaning and how to eat healthy for a short time as the children were very eager to participate in experiences such a s the hospital, block building and caring for the little soft babies and several of the children were also rather interested in examining their own teeth by looking at them in the mirror. We have been very lucky to have two new boys start in our Kangaroo Group, so welcome to you both and of course your family.
I would just like to remind you all that your child now requires to wear sunscreen each day they come to Kindergarten as well as a hat. A suitable hat is one that covers your child’s ears, face and neck. Appropriate clothing is that which covers your child’s shoulders. Of course we will be encouraging the children to play in shaded areas. I will be providing you with some information about sun protection.
