3 Year Old Kangaroo Group Blog 26/7/13
We started the session indoors and that is where we stayed as we were all very busy, shopping, doing puzzles and using the cars on the car mat.
The shop owners had to restock their shop at least twice as they sold out of everything..... The shoppers took their products home and packed them into their cupboards after using some of the fresh vegetables to create some delicious meals. At the puzzle experience children were making their own choices about what puzzle to do as well as assisting others. Certainly great teamwork occurred when trying to do a difficult puzzle that nearly everyone had a go at including 3 of the older children from the 4 Year Old Extended Hours Group.... Thanks boys...With the car mat and the cars time was spent lying on their side for some children pushing their cars along the roads. Houses and buildings were also constructed around the mat. Lots of co-operation occurring during this experience.
Outdoors on Tuesday the place to be seemed to be the sand pit where there was lots of discussion about wet and dry sand and what works better when building castles. Indoors the shop continues to be busy where the customers purchased many products again. The shop owners had to spend time restocking the shelves. The cars were incorporated with the blocks again and ramps were made so the cars could” jump and fly very high” There was some discussion about being a baby and what we ate and what we liked to do. Some of the discussion was rather interesting.......
Friday we spent outdoors for most of the session. Climbing, running and swinging with our friends was fun. While at the vegetable garden several children were interested in tasting the lettuce, parsley and chives and looking at the broccoli. Maybe some cooking with chives and parsley could happen.
