We would like to welcome you all back after our two week holiday. We heard that many of you did have a lovely time. There are many experiences planned for the term ahead which will be very exciting. Please remember to read any notices that are displayed, the newsletters that will be out and of course the weekly blog.
On Tuesday there were many happy faces returning to Kindergarten and greeting their friends. We stayed outdoors participating in many of their favourite experiences such as running, climbing and swinging. We looked at the vegetable garden to see how much they had grown.
When indoors we looked at the mum stick insect and her two babies. The babies were difficult to find as they are camouflaged but we certainly could see the mum and her curly prickly tail. What an interesting insect to have at Kindergarten.
On Friday the majority of time was spent outdoors of course climbing and spending time in the sandpit as well as working on the keyboards, first in the cubby house and then over on the rocks.....The children who were involved in this know so many letters.........
I introduced the children to a Mother Kangaroo and her Joey.( toy of course) Names had to be decided, so each child suggested a name which was put into a basket for each Kangaroo and a name was chosen for each of them......... Jasmine is the mums name and Baby Candy for the Joey. These kangaroos will be going home with the family on fruit duty every Tuesday and Friday. There is a book from last year displayed next to the sign in book to give you some ideas for what you could do to show everyone what fun the Kangaroos got up to while with your family.
Speaking of fruit duty and washing roster there seems to be many vacancies for families to be involved. Please have a look to see if you are available for any of these days as your child does love having you at Kindergarten.
