I would like to welcome you all to our first Kangaroo Group Blog for 2014. We have generally started happy and there has been lots of exploring of the new environment, both indoors and outdoors.
The playdough and easel painting seem to be the popular experiences at the moment. We hope that you have been enjoying your child’s artwork during this first week. And for some families we hope you have enough wall space for all the paintings that have already been coming home!!!!!!!!!!
Outdoors the sandpit and the swing seem to be the places where the children gravitate to. In the sand the children are digging, cooking and transporting the sand in the trucks. It has been rather hot so water has been provided in the sandpit, in the big water trolley and in red tins along with a paint brush. Many of the children have been involved in one or more of these experiences.
There has been lots of delicious fruit brought in for the children to share for afternoon tea. At this time the children are getting to their new friends along with making choices about what to eat. The children are learning how to use tongs to grab their piece of fruit. This is a rather tricky skill to learn. Congratulations to each of you.
Along with the sign in/out book and the noticeboard there is a group journal that has photos and some information about what we have been doing. We would love for you to read this and ask us or your child any questions. If you would like to provide us with any ideas/suggestions to do with the group we would love it.
These blogs will be done weekly and are an overview of what the group has been doing during that week. Hope you enjoy reading them.
It has been an enjoyable week for us getting to know you all. Thank you
From Your Kangaroo Group Educators; Fiona, Karen and Annette
