How can we be at the end of Term 2 already – it has been a long term, and a busy one, but we have had a lot of fun. The children have developed in many ways over the term, and are curious, interested in learning information, aware of what is happening around them, and are developing their skills in many ways.
On Wednesday we had a visit from a Dentist who talked with the children about how to look after their teeth, how to brush their teeth correctly, and also about the foods that are good for you, and the foods that are only for special occasions, such as lollies and cakes. Each child had a turn to have their teeth checked, and a report will be forwarded to each family. It was very pleasing to note that the health of the children’s teeth was excellent, but we do stress that this examination was not done in a well lit dental surgery, so it is advisable that the children’s teeth are checked regularly by a dentist from this age. We are sad to say goodbye to Zach Waayer and his family this week as they are moving to the Blue Mountains to live – we will miss Zach, but we wish the family well. So we decided to have a party to say goodbye and to celebrate the end of tem at the same time. The Mums and a Dad came early at 11.15 am. With plates of food for us to share, and we set up a party table in our room. Earlier in the morning the children had helped to make some lemonade for our party (definitely a food only for special occasions !!!), They squeezed the lemons on lemon squeezers – we had a lot of lemons – so it was hard work, measured the amount of juice, then we mixed this with a sugar and water syrup, we followed the recipe, and added more water to our taste – and we had some delicious lemonade to share for our party. So at the end of the morning , we said our goodbye to Zach and his family, and gave him a special card the children had secretly made for him. So after a busy week – our year is half over. Have a happy and safe holiday! What will happen next term ? Group A Educators - Margot, Ann and Lisa. Comments are closed.
