The children have been very busy settling into Kindergarten – we have met our friends - we are learning their names - we are learning about Kindergarten routines and rules – we have experienced our first lunch routines – and our first rest day !
We have had a variety of activities to encourage the children to experience and experiment doing different things, both by themselves if they want to, or perhaps with one other child, or maybe join a group of children working together.
The children are encouraged to be independent, putting their own bags, fruit and drink bottles in the right places on arrival, getting their own smocks when painting, helping to pack away and tidy up, replacing the equipment where it should be when they have finished using it, at lunch time the children were responsible for their own lunches, and at rest time placed their own sleeping bags onto their own mats, organising their own shoes, and packing away afterwards The children have fun doing these things, and are developing confidence in their own abilities, and their own sense of identity, and are learning to be part of the Kindergarten Community
We have started to learn about what we can find and see when we go to the beach, and we will extend this interest to other creatures that live in the sea.
We are having fun!
