GROUP A REFLECTIONS – WEEK 29TH JULY – 1ST AUGUST 2014.
What a busy week we have had !!
We welcome 5 new children into our Group – so please introduce yourselves and make our new families feel welcome. These children bring new languages and new areas of the world into our experience , so this is even more exciting, and relevant to our present interest in the World, different countries and different languages. You will have noticed that we have been putting up on our wall the children’s names written in different languages, and we still have more to come. If you are able to contribute please let me know. We have looked at these with the children and also discussed that as well as looking and sounding different, some languages are written from left to right, some from right to left, and some from top to bottom. We also plan to have any parents that are able, to read a familiar story to the children in a different language. Remember if you are able to lend or show us anything from different countries, please bring them to show us.
We continued making our Hot Air Balloon- we have now completed all the layers and next week will turn it into a hot air balloon and hang it from our ceiling. We will discuss other ways of travelling to different destinations as well. Our aeroplane corner is a very busy place.
Even though the weather has been so cold – we have been going outdoors for part of each session – fresh air and exercise are good for us – please make sure the children have a warm coat to wear. (We are lucky to have our verandah to use if it is raining). We have been having baton relays and running races and also jumping over a rope to warm us up.
Max the Photographer came and took all our photos, both individual and a group photo – I’m sorry our new families missed out but these dates were arranged a long time ago.
Some dates for your diary –
We will have some eggs hatching , and we will look after the little chickens from 11th – 22nd August.
We will be having a visit from the Dental Hygienist to look at the children’s teeth and tell the children how to care for their teeth on Wednesday 3rd September.
Our Trivia Night is on Friday 5th September – this is a fun night.
And very important – We will celebrate Fathers Day by having our Dads (or maybe Grandfathers or Uncles if Dad is not able to) come and spend time at Kindergarten with us on Friday 5th September at 8.00 a.m. – 9.30 a.m. so the children can share Kindergarten with them. A proper Invitation will follow, but keep the date free Dad.
Remember – if you would like to talk with me about your child I am available on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
Remember – we would appreciate your input with our Questionnare please.
What will we do next week?
