Koala Group week 3 reflection 17th February-21st February
What a fantastic week we have had! The children are settling into the routine of kinder and are now telling me the order of our session! We have been doing a mixture of songs that they are familiar with, and have also learnt a new song this week called “I’m a little sea star”. The children are all enjoying spending time on the mat and sharing ideas and singing together. During group time, we have also been looking at our friendship photo album. This is helping the children become familiar with their peers names.
Art and craft has again been a favourite this week. We have continued our cotton bud painting as the children have been showing a considerable amount of interest in this activity. We have also been making sea stars to extend on our new sea star song at group time. They are looking great!
Outdoors this week the children have been exploring their environment and have been looking for little creatures! One of the children found a snail and we used this opportunity to all get together and have a look and talk about snails before we returned it back in the garden. Karen found a tiny gecko, which we had a look at towards the end of the session on Thursday.
Children have also been keen to explore new equipment during outside play. Stilts and the climbing equipment has been very popular this week, with the children able to build on their coordination and physical skills.
Placemats as you may have noticed, are all complete and the children have been enjoying searching for where they are sitting for snack, and of coarse then using them!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week!
