It’s good to see everyone settled and back into routine. This week the weather is now improving and our sun smart policy is now underway where children are now required to wear hats, sunscreen and tops with sleeves. We are not encouraging children to wear spare hats so please make sure they have one from home (including jumpers) we are still getting cold weather especially with the wind.
Tracey’s supermarket game has been a really good memory exercise. Each child names an item they would like to buy and the children go around the circle and recall the every growing list ‘It’s easy for the first person but harder for the last’ observed Sam and Max.
We have three year 9 boys from De La Salle who are joining the kinder groups over the week. They have been playing sport and interacting with the children throughout the day. The children really gravitate to ‘big kids’ and they’ve supported the children’s learning by reading stories, floor puzzles, art activities and simply being good role models. We celebrated Matt's 15th birthday this week.
Exposure of a wide variety of literature is important. We have sent home 2 readers each week and the children enjoy bringing them back and choosing new books to take home. We enjoy story time under the tree outside if weather allows it and have morning tea/lunch in the sun - we will be able to enjoy more of this as the weather improves. The children told us they like to read books before bed time at home... what a lovely idea!
Please remember the working bee on the 20th October
