Welcome back everyone! It’s good to see you’re all smiling and well rested. The room continues to reflect interests with a new supermarket, large camp tent, audio story headphones and more challenging board games and puzzles. This term we’re focusing on Aboriginal culture, dreamtime and school readiness. All the children will come home with 2 readers each week - for the exposure of literacy and word recognition. These books are to be brought back and re-distributed every Monday (please refer to notice board)
At home we can also prepare children for school. This can be simple things such as allocating duties (giving them responsibilities e.g. setting the dinner table), getting them to dress themselves in the morning, pack a bag for kinder or play family board games. The children will be transitioning from a play based kinder to a more structured environment- our kinder program has laid the foundation for your child to be confident, competent, independent thinkers who will be able to adapt to their new surroundings. If you have any concerns speak to the staff and write comments in the transition reports in the family section.
This term we are focusing on Indigenous Aboriginals, dreamtime, travel, currency and different forms of communication.
Please make sure your child has sunscreen and a hat now that the weather is improving.
