The children are settling into Term 3 with gusto! The room experiences have changed further to engage and extend the children’s play and learning. These include pasting, dinosaur mosaics, dress ups and tea parties. A lot of emphasis has been made to start and finish games, art works and puzzles or simply ‘come back to it’ so things don’t get left unfinished. Many children are good at helping and supporting their friends when they find things difficult.
The two laptop computers have been set up with engaging interactive learning programs where children follow instructions and prompts. We will be introducing Kid Pix, letter land and Arthur. Technology is an important part of modern day life; we find most children are better with it than adults!
We have been cooking the fresh produce from the garden. The broccoli and chives were delicious in a fresh pasta salad! Some children even went back for seconds (it must have been Helen's secret seasoning which made it extra tasty!)
Our focus is on dinosaurs. Most children have a fascination for these long extinct monsters and become readily involved in the topic areas. Tracey has hidden dinosaur fossils in the sand and larger bones can be found in the sandpit. The Earth has an incredibly long history which we will explore further. Learning about dinosaurs allows a class to become involved
Happy 5th Birthday to Marie!!!
Father’s day preparation is underway and invitations will be sent out to families. We are practising a live concert/show which will keep us busy over the next few weeks.
We would like to thank the lovely Christine for filling-in while Amy was away.
Please fill in our kinder (feedback sheets) to give us an insight into parent (family) perspectives on our program and roles.
