Welcome back to Term 3 everybody! These cold mornings have been crisp and refreshing for all- but we are happy to back together again after a few weeks holiday. The room has been changed and we are currently looking at the human body with our new doctor’s surgery, mirror drawing and skeleton puzzles. The focus has been on our five senses tasting, smelling, hearing, looking and touching- so far we have had a taste testing game blindfolded and have been matching different sounds together. The children traced each other’s bodies and drew the inside of our bodies using a range of reference books. Roxy has been singing ‘dem bones’ at home so we decided to learn together as a group, we have also been practising the ‘national anthem’ with Bea’s help! In the next few weeks we will be looking at the ‘healthy eating pyramid’ and start cooking some healthy recipes. The ‘shopping’ game has been very popular where the children follow a shopping list and fill there trolleys with the various items which match. At mat time we have been memorising shopping lists practising our memory and recall. The children have a sound understanding on ‘healthy’ and ‘unhealthy’ foods and making healthy lifestyle choices.
· The fruit duty roster is not even half full and we would really appreciate some new names on the board - even once for the term would be very much appreciated and your child would really like you to stay a morning so they can be your special helper!
· Late fees will be given to parents who are late. We have a few repeat offenders and it’s important you allow staff to have time to pack away at the end of the day and so your child is not worried at the end of the session
· Professional photos are next week Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th July. Please make sure children’s clothes and hair are tidy
