On Monday morning we were fortunate enough to have the wonderful Drama Toolbox come to visit our kindergarten for an incursion. The children walked into the multi-purpose room and were immediately taken to a jungle full of dinosaurs which they would later become. The session began with a discussion of different dinosaurs with the children correctly identifying each picture shown to them. The children then got to put on different dinosaur costumes and become brachiosaurs, pterodactyls, triceratops, stegosaurus and T-Rex. Fairlie from Drama Toolbox led the story showing the different dinos where to walk, what to eat and when to roar, all while encouraging their own imaginations and creativity. Watching the experience, it was fantastic to see children who may sometimes be reluctant to become involved, playing the role of dinosaur with great authenticity. Of course, our favourite part was to RAAAWWWWRRRR!
