We are still really enjoying our rabbits, and watching them grow and develop, they are very active and have learnt how to drink from the drink bottle, and eat grass as well as feeding from their mother. The children have been able to hold them, and are very gentle and careful of them (learning to care for and respect small creatures). The children also sat in front of the rabbits and drew pictures of them in their art books - they were so creative and wonderful. (Drawing from real life is quite a skill and requires patience, concentration and observation)
Following on from Mothers Day, the children made a thank you card for the Florist (Fresh Cut Flowers at the Prahran Market) who donated all the flowers for our Mums to receive a posy each. I delivered this card to him last week with our thanks. It is a good habit for the children to have that it is important to say thank you!
Following on from our visit from David The Music Man, the children have been collecting seed pods from the trees in our playground so that next week we will use these to make our own musical shakers. Photos of David's visit are on display in our room, both group photos and including one of each child playing the trombone. These photos have encouraged much discussion about the experience.
On Friday we were excited to take part in our first Music Group with Kylie, who will be working with the 4YO children each week - she is very enthusiastic and plans to involve the children in many hands on musical experiences - we are looking forward to these sessions.
