Mother’s - one of the most special and precious things to exist in our world. We love our Mum’s every day of the year OF COURSE. However one day (only one you say?) is set out as the day where all the Mums are celebrated all over, all around. We did this at AELC by inviting the Mum’s to come and spend some time with us in our kinder space - relaxing, playing and even being pampered. In the morning we prepared scones with jam & cream for our loved ones. Before our Mum’s arrived we talked about all the spaces in our room where we could spend time with our Mum’s and share our favourite games and play, the anticipation grew and finally our Mum’s arrived! In addition to sharing in drawing, painting, building, games and play, Mum’s were invited to recieve a hand massage - although some found their offspring preferred to simply squeeze on the lotion and disappear! After a 5 michelin star style treat of scones with Jam & Cream, we then showed off our singing skills with old favourite “Little Peter Rabbit” and a song we had practiced for the occasion “Skidamarink”. We finished the morning gifting our Mums with a portrait and flowers. These portraits were a real labour of love from our Possums. Each unique and all wonderful! Well done Possums and of course, Happy Mother’s Day!
"Skidamarink a-dink, a-dink, Skidamarink a-doo,
I love you.
I love you in the morning, And in the afternoon;
I love you in the evening, And underneath the moon. Oh, skidamarink a-dink, a-dink, Skidamarink a-doo,
I love you."
